Inception and Founding

Established in 1964 by the visionary Mr. Binod Kumar Dalmia, Mahavir Trade Concern (MTC) embarked on its journey by importing automobile parts from IMPAL, India’s largest distributor.

Strategic Evolution

In 1995, a pivotal moment unfolded as Akashdip Dalmia, the son of Mr. Binod Dalmia, joined the organization. This marked a strategic shift towards direct imports from renowned manufacturers such as CD TVS (now ZF Wabco) and TVS Brakes India.

Growth and Strategic Leadership

Under the adept guidance of Akashdip, MTC witnessed significant expansion. The company flourished with the establishment of over 45 representatives, the inauguration of branches in Kathmandu and Butwal, and the inception of three service centers. This period solidified MTC’s position as a leader in the automobile business.

Strategic Partnerships

In 2007, MTC undertook a strategic initiative by establishing a partnership with Tata Autocom, specifically Tata green Batteries, thus solidifying its position as the exclusive authorized sole distributor of Tata Batteries in Nepal. This landmark agreement positioned MTC as the pioneer distributor of Tata green batteries in Nepal, successfully carving out a significant market presence in Nepal.

A Tragic Loss

The year 2009 brought a devastating blow as MTC lost its driving force, Mr. Akashdip Dalmia, in a car accident. Despite the tragedy, MTC stood strong under the leadership of Mr. Binod Kumar Dalmia.

Mr. Binod Kumar Dalmia, the visionary founder of MTC, established the company in 1964, demonstrating unwavering commitment to the automotive industry. In the face of adversity, particularly the tragic loss of his son, Akashdip Dalmia, in 2009, Mr. Binod Kumar Dalmia exhibited remarkable resilience. His steadfast leadership steered MTC through challenges, leaving an indelible mark on Nepal’s automotive landscape.

Nidhi Dalmia, MTC’s current CEO, embodies strength and effective leadership. Despite personal tragedies, including the loss of her husband and father-in-law, she displayed exceptional resolve, ensuring the continuity of MTC’s legacy and values. Nidhi’s grace and determination have successfully guided the company through challenges, balancing family responsibilities and business demands. Under her leadership, MTC not only perseveres but thrives, reflecting the enduring values set by the founders. Nidhi Dalmia’s journey exemplifies resilience emerging from adversity, marking a continuation of the legacy established by Mr. Binod Kumar Dalmia and carried forward by her late husband, Akash Dip Dalmia.
